I am a bit obsessed with skin tone match when rebodying dolls. I will note down my experiences here using the official Mattel's names when possible. The list is constantly under construction and take note I'm not infallible. ;)

DeleteI bought a new MTM blue top and her skin tone is the same as the MTM skateboarder. It's horribly disappointing because it's very difficult to find a doll that matches a huge range of older dolls.

ReplyDeleteI'm having a hard time to match a doll to Barbie Signature Looks #3 (Kit). I'm looking for a doll with hair that's either dark blonde, light brown, any shade of purple or light pink. It doesn't need to be a Fashionista, it can be a playline or even a doll that's already on a MTM body - I just want to put her on a petite body. All the known matches aren't on the market anymore. I was thinking about The Little Mermaid's Karina or Caspia but I haven't seen them IRL (TBH, Caspia is probably too pale and I don't think that Karina has got enough pink in her judging from the photos). Any ideas?
