Queen of 2022

 This doll, quite unexpectedly, has given me incredible amount of joy in 2022. Actually, she might have reignited the fun in collecting for me. I present to you - Barbie Ultimate Color Reveal Peel Fantasy Unicorn Fashion (or whatever her full name is). I've instantly lost the pet and most of the accessories to my daughter, but I had been interested only in the doll anyway. She got the mermaid from this series as well.

Ta lalka, dość niespodziewanie, przyniosła mi mnóstwo radości w 2022. W sumie, może nawet na nowo rozpaliła iskierkę radości w moim kolekcjonowaniu. Przedstawiam Wam - Barbie Ultimate Color Reveal Peel Fantasy Unicorn Fashion (albo jakkolwiek brzmi jej pełna nazwa). Niemal natychmiast straciłam zwierzaczka i większość akcesoriów od tej lalki na rzecz mojej córki, ale zależało mi tylko na lalce. Dostała też syrenkę z tej serii.

 Her hair feels the cheapest possible, although the colour change works fine. She got an MtM body instantly (blue tie-dye yoga pants), because I couldn't stand the molded fashions. I couldn't care less for her additional clothes and accessories. However, her face is so cute and cheerful, I'd forgive her all of that.

Jej włosy wydają się najtańsze z najtańszych, ale funkcja zmiany koloru działa dobrze. Natychmiast dostała ciałko MtM (w niebieskich getrach), bo nie mogłam znieść jej namalowanych ubranek. Dodatkowe ubranka i akcesoria zupełnie mnie nie zainteresowały. A mimo to, jej buzia jest tak urocza i pogodna, że wybaczyłam jej to wszystko.

Christmas with Kiras

 I recently bought a new and quite original take on Kira/Marina mold - Fashionistas #156 - and by recently I mean early autumn. But this gave me the idea to take out all versions of this face I own and document them in pictures.

Niedawno kupiłam nowy i całkiem oryginalny  wariant moldu Kira/Marina - Fashionistas #156 - a przez niedawno rozumiem wczesną jesień. To poddało mi pomysł, żeby wyciągnąć wszystkie wersje tej buźki, jakie mam, i udokumentować je na zdjęciach.

Splash'n Color Kira/Marina 1996

My first Kira, who was called Marina in Europe. I've dreamed about a doll with Asian features for ages and finally I got one ona trip to Italy. It consumed a significant portion of my family's travel budget. She did not entirely fit my dream looks, but she was the first I ever saw in person. Her hair is driving me crazy - it's an unmanageable kanekalon with shiny bits.

Moja pierwsza Kira, która w Europie była nazywana Mariną. Marzyłam o lalce o azjatyckich rysach całe wieki i wreszcie dostałam jedną w czasie wyprawy do Włoch. Pochłonęło to znaczącą część rodzinnego budżetu na podróż. Nie całkiem wpasowuje się mój wymarzony wygląd, ale to pierwsza, którą zobaczyłam na żywo. Jej włosy doprowadzają mnie do szału - to nieogarnialny kanekalon z błyszczącymi nitkami.

Second Kira in my collection. This time I got her in Poland, in a shop that doesn't exist any more, but was my favourite destination to drool over dolls in the 90s. Closer to my ideals - natural hair and eye colour plus a lovely kimono.

Druga Kira w mojej kolekcji. Tym razem kupiona w Polsce, w sklepie, który już nie istnieje, ale był moim ulubionym celem wypraw w latach 90-tych, żeby poślinić się do lalek. Bliżej mojego ideału - naturalny kolor włosów i oczu.

2000 was such a good year for dolls. Picture Pockets is soooo close to perfection! I removed her green eyeshadow.

 2000 był takim dobrym rokiem dla lalek. Picture Pockets jest taaaak blisko ideału! Zmyłam jej zielony cień do powiek.

Flying Hero Kira 1995

This was my Holy Grail doll since the moment I saw her in a catalogue in the 90s. Got her a few years ago. 

To był mój lalkowy Święty Graal od czasu, kiedy ją zobaczyłam w katalogu w latach 90-tych. Kupiłam zaledwie kilka lat temu.

Barbie Fashionistas Wear Your Heart #81 2017

I've been very excited about the return of one of my favourite molds in the Fashionistas line. I didn't like the first time it showed up as #62 though. Quite liked the #81. And she is different from my older Kiras with blonde hair and red lips.

Byłam bardzo podekscytowana powrotem jednego z moich ulubionych moldów w serii Fashionistas. Nie podobała mi się pierwsza, która się ukazała, czyli #62. Za to spodobała mi się #81. Różni się od moich starszych Kir, z blond włosami i czerwonymi ustami.

I wasn't sure I liked this doll in promo pictures. She is very original, big hair, dark complexion, blue lipstick. I decided to pass. But when I saw her in person... and she was a must have.

Nie byłam pewna, czy ta lalka podoba mi się na zdjęciach promocyjnych. Jest bardzo oryginalna z bujną fryzurą, ciemną cerą i niebieską szminką. Zdecydowałam się odpuścić. A potem zobaczyłam ją na żywo... i musiałam mieć.
