Summary of February in March

 February was really eventful: I started making doll furniture, took my dolls for a weekend trip, started an unusual doll renewal project and participated in a doll meet. Had lots of things to write about! But then, the war broke out and I found my hands completely full organizing help and tending to my own family, who got sick.

So, we are finally getting better and learning to coexist with our new roommates and neighbours.

 

Luty był pełen wydarzeń: zaczęłam robić mebelki dla lalek, zabrałam lalki na weekendową wycieczkę, rozpoczęłam nietypowy projekt odnowienia lalki i wzięłam udział w spotkaniu lalkowym. Miałam mnóstwo rzeczy, o których miałam pisać! Ale wtedy wybuchła wojna i nagle miałam ręce pełne roboty przy organizacji pomocy i opiece nad moją własną rodziną, która się pochorowała.

Nareszcie dochodzimy do siebie, a także uczymy się koegzystować z naszymi nowymi współlokatorami i sąsiadami.

Moving (on)

I have moved and got myself a present on the occasion.

My dolls are still waiting to get out of the boxes, but at least I have room for that!

Przeprowadziłam się i kupiłam sobie prezent z tej okazji.

Moje lalki nadal tkwią gdzieś w pudłach, ale przynajmniej mam na nie miejsce!

I have mixed feelings towards Sujin as well as to this review. I have less than 2 hours to midnight, maybe I'll manage to finish still this year. ;)

Remember my friend Matilda photographing Zoe? It is pretty interesting to see her through somebody else's eyes. Here is how I saw her almost a year ago, which is more or less the same time as Matilda's session.

Pamiętacie, jak moja przyjaciółka Matylda fotografowała Zoe? Całkiem interesujące zobaczyć ją cudzymi oczami. A tak widziałam ją ja niemal rok temu, czyli mniej więcej wtedy, kiedy Matylda zrobiła jej sesję.

Favourite photo of 2014

To summarize 2014 somebody on DollsForum started a thread about photos we're most fond of. It's not a competition, just an occasion to reninisce. It was quite difficult to choose, but on the other hand, it was very nice to look through all the photos I'd taken last year. I've narrowed down to three.

 W ramach podsumowania 2014 ktoś na DollsForum zaczął wątek o zdjęciach, które najbardziej lubimy. To nie konkurs, tylko okazja do powspominania. Było mi dość trudno wybrać, a z drugiej strony, bardzo fajnie przejrzeć wszystkie zdjęcia, jakie zrobiłam w zeszłym roku. Udało mi się zawęzić do trzech.

Wyobraź sobie, że leżysz w trawie i śledzisz chmury przepływające po niebie. Powietrze jest gorące i aromatyczne. Słyszysz świerszcze? Tym jest to zdjęcie dla mnie.

Matilda is my friend and an amazingly talented person. She is not a collector, but she was so fascinated with my Zoe that she asked to take some photos of her. I gladly gave my consent. Here are the results. Enjoy! :)

That's Zoe's fourth makeup so far, the one I've done after ruining the third one (stupid me - I put on a damp wig on unsealed head) and thinking I have nothing to lose. Well, it was an experiment, it's not my style.

I will name her Ζωη, that is Zoé or Zoja, which means life. This is her first faceup. I'm not going to keep it, just wanted to document it. I had lots of fun painting her and it turned out better than I expected. Actually, I didn't think that my first make up attempt will be publishable at all.

I got a box, a really big box. I took the dog for a walk before opening it, because I needed to cool down.

Now I'm speechles, so let the pictures talk.

Just had to share this news! Today at 19:36 local time my Asa was handed over to Customs Office. Yay!

Nice basic shoes for a BJD...

 I'm not buying shoes for my BJD, I can make some decent shoes myself, right? Well, maybe just one pair, a basic one to start with...

...can go with a bow.

But in the same shop they had these really cute and relatively cheap sneakers. They didn't have human sizes, so a doll sized pair had to suffice.

Did I mention that I love cute patterns on sneakers?

And finally I stumbled upon *really accidentally* this red pair. You know, I have this thing about red shoes...

Some people sinned for a red apple. This is my temptation.

I really try not to think that my Asa comes also with high heel feet... Thankfully she has an unusual foot size and it is quite difficult to find a pair that would fit her. Don't tell me if I'm wrong. ;)

Waiting for THE doll

Waiting for Asa makes me anxious and anxiety is soothed best by shopping... for a short time, unfortunately. Anyway, I need to prepare for her arrival, right?
I don't know exactly what I want for her, but I narrowed down the choice of eye colour to dark brown and grassy green. First, I got two pairs of 10mm glass  eyes.

I've been looking for grassy green, but found these and fell in love.

These came along, a little too light, but there wasn't much choice in that particular shop.

In my pursuit for perfect colour, I found acrylic half-dome greens...

They came lovely packed.

Tiny eyelashes and eye putty are on their way. I am almost fulfilled in the department of dolls eyes, but I feel a disturbing urge to get no-pupil pink eyes.

It's official

It's official, I finally lost my mind completely. I think that's what I needed to take the last step and... order a BJD.
I've been admiring BJDs as beautiful objects for years. About 3 years ago I started considering having one, but it's not an easy decision...
Last week I received some bad news about my health. And then I thought, it's better to be sick and miserable WITH a Dollfie than without one. From there it was just a matter of choosing THE ONE, which wasn't entierly that difficult since my preferences haven't changed much for the last 2 years.
So, there she is, Iplehouse's JID Asa:
