Summary of April

I've been traveling a bit in April.
First, in business, and I encountered lovely, hand-made, cloth dolls in an unexpected place - natural cosmetics fair in Warsaw. The dolls are made by Sylwia Krajewska from familiostory.com. I got one for my daughter and finally scored a success, cause she loves her (and that is not a given with most dolls, especially cloth ones). Grab one if you like them, I was told they'll be discontinued.

Trochę podróżowałam w kwietniu.
Najpierw służbowo i natrafiłam na urocze, ręcznie zrobione szmacianki w niespodziewanym miejscu - na targach kosmetyków naturalnych w Warszawie. Lalki zostały zrobione przez Sylwię Krajewską z familiostory.com. Kupiłam jedną dla córki i wreszcie odniosłam sukces, bo ją uwielbia (a to nie jest takie pewne z większością lalek, szczególnie szmacianek). Kupcie je, jeśli Wam się podobają, bo powiedziano mi, że nie będą dalej produkowane.

Then, I bought a really cool book about regional clothes from central Poland where I live.

Kupiłam też fajną książkę o strojach regionalnych z centralnej Polski, gdzie mieszkam.

And finally, I went for short holiday to Egypt. Brought my new traveling buddy along - the Mini Extra Barbie. 

Na koniec, pojechałam na krótkie wakacje do Egiptu.  Zabrałam moją nową towarzyszkę podróży - Mini Extra Barbie.

I got back to crocheting - I made a dress, my daughter took it over and demanded for changes, cause she wanted it floor lenght. 

Wróciłam do szydełkowania - zrobiłam sukienkę, którą zaanektowała moja córka żądając przeróbek, bo chciała, żeby była do ziemi.

We got tempted by this giant surprise egg with a picture of Barbie, but the contents were really disappointing - a whistle, few sweets, a car and a few more things not worth mentioning. Nothing doll-related.

Skusiło nas to ogromne jajko z niespodzianką ze zdjęciem Barbie, ale zawartość była rozczarowująca - gwizdek, trochę słodyczy, autko i jakieś nie warte wspomnienia drobiazgi. Nic lalkowego.

 

At the airport in Hurghada I saw a stall with Spanish Llorens dolls. This was the first time I saw so many in person. I like them even more now.

NA lotnisku w Hurghadzie widziałam stoisko z hiszpańskimi lalkami Llorens. Pierwszy raz widziałam ich tak wiele na żywo. Podobają mi się teraz jeszcze bardziej.

Jane's new groove

 Swimming pool seems to be the only reasonable place to be under the current weather. Therefore, I quickly had to finish a swimsuit for Jane.

Basen wydaje się być jedynym miejscem, w którym da się przetrwać obecną pogodę. Z tej okazji szybciutko wykończyłam kostium dla Jane.

Children's day

Sweet 1600 Clawdeen presenting "merry-go-round" dress || Clawdeen Słodkie 1600 Urodziny prezentuje "karuzelową" sukienkę.

After a long break I got back to crocheting. I made three dresses for my niece and her friend for Children's Day. You can imagine the scream they gave, but they were even more happy spending a whole evening with their favourite auntie.

Po długiej przerwie wróciłam do szydełkowania. Zrobiłam trzy sukienki dla bratanicy i jej przyjaciółki na Dzień Dziecka. Możecie sobie wyobrazić ich pisk, ale jeszcze bardziej cieszyły się z popołudnia spędzonego z ulubioną cioteczką.

The purple dress has little Cupid appliques and bead buttons, the other two have sewn skirts, crocheted tops and gold and silver beads.

Fioletowa sukienka ma aplikacje z małymi Amorkami i guziczki z koralików, pozostałe dwie mają szyte spódnice, szydełkowe góry i srebrne oraz złote koraliki.

Lagoona's holiday memories

Sand, sun and water, who'd need more..? ;P Well, poor Lagoona had her holiday, now I'm having a break from dolls and I haven't even released her from her traveling case.

My Scene Barbie Wave 1

I got this My Scene Barbie Wave 1 head in a condition suggesting an unexpected attack of an overenthusiastic, but poorly experienced hairdresser. She probably requires a reroot, but since there are few things that I hate more, I decided to give it a chance and try to save her with a new hairdo alone.

I did what I could, it looks better from the back, but I managed to improve her looks enough to want to keep her.

I gave her a spare Fashion Fever body.

She's presenting my sewing corner.
