Obsession

Part of my doll shoes collection.
I have to admitt, I'm an obsessive type. Obsessed with rats, dolls and... doll shoes! My dolls have to have shoes, otherwise their look is incomplete. I used to buy dolls for their shoes as well as not buy some, because I didn't have shoes to fit them.
I've committed a few pairs for the dolls less provided by the producers, but I haven't mastered it yet.
Today, I want to show you my favourite factory-made little shoes.

Yesterday I decided that since I have to go to the hospital again, I might as well get some new dolly shoes. I got my hubby running around the city and in the end I got... Jelly Babies. They're almost as good. ;)
Toy shops already have Christmas expositions, but the only doll shoe pack my hubby found consisted of two pairs of pink strappy sandals. Bleh!

Barbie's Pretty Treasures 1995
I found Barbie's Pretty Treasures set sometime around 1995 in the biggest toy shop in the city, an exceptional place for a child raised in the gray reality of communism, and they shone like a true treasure. I didn't dare to ask my parents to buy me the set, it was so expensive! I've collected all money I got for a month or so and got back to the shop praying for the set to be there. And it was waiting there for me!
It has everything I love about doll shoes - real lace, working buckles and two colours.

Shoes good for kicking butts and saving Ken (from left: Hi Hi Puffy Ami, Barbie's shoes from a shoe pack, Generation Girl Chelsea, Hi Hi Puffy Yumi)
Since most of my dolls were at that time more of adventurers than princesses, I dreamt about proper shoes for them. The beige ones above were the first I got, the others are recent finds.

Poseable Barbie shoes

Of course, poseable Barbie was another story. I didn't like that type of body and didn't have one for a long time due to lack of shoes. Love for Mattel's Mulan helped me to overcome this aversion and set me out hunting for flat shoes.

MGA's Top Models' shoes - lovely!

TBC.

  1. Your kicking butt shoes are my kind of kicks! I like chunky, sturdy shoes. I used to wear jelly shoes as a kid but I've not seen them made for dollies.

    You have a wonderful collection.

    1. Thanks! Now that I think of it, I have 2 pairs of Barbie shoes that might go as jelly shoes. I'll need to look fr them.

  3. Nosz kurde, każda babka kocha buty! Czemu niby Baśki miałyby być inne!
Sama chciałabym mieć szafę takich pantofelków. Albo trampków... chyba bardziej trampków :)

    1. Ja niewiele par mam z przyczyn technicznych - producenci rzadko o mnie myślą. Kiedyś lubiłam tylko butki do kopania zadków, teraz czasem lubię zasadzić komuś szpilę. ;)

  5. Hello from Spain: I agree with you because I also bought the dolls for the shoes they wear. I can not stand a doll without shoes. I have many shoes in my collection. I see you too. Keep in touch

  6. Ja też jestem fanka butów wszelakiej maści, więc doskonale rozumiem tę obsesję :))) Fajne buciki mają Twoje panny !!!

    1. Fajnie mam też ja, bo uwielbiam grzebać w bucikach, dobierać do kreacji. Mężyk mówi, że chyba bardziej lubię szukać jakiejś pary bucików, niż ją założyć lalce. ;)
